Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign Jhon Duran from Chicago Fire. Fulham and Brentford were both linked with the youngster but he has made the move to the Midlands instead.
Villa have announced on their official club website that the deal is subject to the player passing a medical, personal terms and obtaining a work visa. He caught the eye playing in MLS last year and ESPN claim the transfer fee is an initial $18 million, with $4million in add-ons.

CalcioMercatoWeb claimed that both Fulham and Brentford made ‘offers’ for the forward. However, Unai Emery’s side were also credited with an interest along with Portuguese giants Benfica.
Duran, 19, may have been identified by the London pair as someone to add more depth to their attacking options. He is being tipped for big things and would have been one to watch out for in the future.
The Colombia international scored eight times for Chicago Fire last year and only broke into their first-team last term. Prior to his move there, he started his career at Envigado.
Aston Villa will be looking to get a deal over the line and have taken a step closer to getting him by reaching an agreement. Emery’s side beat Leeds United last time out and are 11th in the Premier League table, six points behind Fulham and four behind Brentford.
