Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur. The in-form attacker is poised to be a man in-demand heading towards the January transfer window.

Toney, who is 26-years-old, has been a key player for the Bees over the past few years and they could face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future. According to a report by Football Insider, Spurs are ‘monitoring’ his situation ahead of a potential swoop.

Antonio Conte’s side aren’t the only club being linked with the Northampton-born forward though, with The Mirror suggesting Thomas Frank’s side are ‘ready’ to extend his contract at the club amid interest from Manchester United as well.

Brentford favourite

Brentford swooped to sign Toney back in 2020 after he caught their attention playing for Peterborough United in League One and he has since become their most prized asset. He has made 99 appearances for the London outfit in all competitions to date and has chipped in with 53 goals, six of which have come in 10 outings so far this season.

Spurs could see him as ideal competition with Harry Kane up front and someone who could provide them with another source of goals. They are currently 3rd in the table behind rivals Arsenal and Manchester City after a decent start to the campaign.

They aren’t the only team seemingly in the frame though and would have to see off interest from elsewhere, including potentially from Man United, if they are to lure the prolific forward to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
