Former Brentford winger Max Haygarth is on trial at Birmingham City.

The youngster parted company with the Bees at the end of last season when his contract expired.

Haygarth, 20, has been weighing up his options as a free agent since the end of June.

As per a report by Birmingham Live, he is now training with the Blues as he continues his hunt for a new club.

Brentford spell

Brentford swooped to sign Haygarth in 2020 on an initial loan deal before making his move permanent.

He started his career on the books at Manchester United and rose up through the academy ranks of the Premier League giants.

The Mancunian was a key player for the Red Devils at various youth levels before deciding to move down to London to link up with the Bees.

Haygarth went on to become a regular for the B team and was handed three first-team appearances by Thomas Frank.

However, he left the Gtech Community Stadium a few months ago and has since had a few trial spells in the Football League.

Luton Today reported earlier this summer that Luton Town were casting their eyes over him, whilst The Star understands Sheffield Wednesday took a look as well.

It is now the turn of Birmingham to decide whether to offer him a contract or not.
