How old is Jurrien Timber?

Arsenal target Timber is 22-years-old. That means he has the potential to grow and develop in the future. He was on the books at Feyenoord as a youngster before switching to Ajax as a youngster in 2014.

The right-back, who can also operate in central defence if needed, has since risen up through the ranks at the Amsterdam Arena and has been a regular at various youth levels for his current club.

He initially played for Jong Ajax before breaking into the first-team in 2019. His contract expires in two years but Ajax will face a battle to keep hold of him now the new transfer window is open for business.

Career statistics

Timber made 39 appearances in the Eerste Divisie, which is the second tier, for the B team to get some experience under his belt. He has now played 121 times for their senior team and has chipped in with six goals from the back.

The Utrecht-born man has helped Ajax win the Eredivisie title twice during his time at the club. He also also won the KNVB Cup and worked under current Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

He is also a Holland international with 15 caps to his name. Louis van Gaal named him in his squad for the World Cup in Qatar last winter.

FIFA 23 rating and potential rating

Timber is rated at 80 on FIFA 23. His most notable attributes are 82 for pace, 83 for sprint speed, 80 for acceleration, 85 for composure and 85 for jumping.

He has the potential to reach an 87 rating. For those that play career mode on the game, he is valued at £31.7million and his wages are £11.1k a week.

Potential transfer fee

According to The Athletic, Arsenal have made an opening offer of £30million as they seek an agreement to land Timber. The report claims Ajax want £50million so there needs to be a compromise from both parties if a deal is to be struck.

The Gunners are back in the Champions League next term which they hope can help them attract some players over the next couple of months. They missed out on the title to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the last campaign.

What other deals are Arsenal working on?

As per Sky Sports, Arsenal are also looking to land midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham and attacker Kai Havertz from Chelsea. They are also still keen on Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo, but he has plenty of competition from elsewhere.
