Winger eyed

Arsenal hold an ‘interest’ in Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes along with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham, as detailed in a report by the Daily Mail. The Gunners could throw the England international a top flight lifeline following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship.

Barnes, who is 25-years-old, is unlikely to stay at the King Power Stadium and has a big decision to make on who to join next as he looks poised to embark on a new chapter in his career. He scored 13 goals in 40 games last term which isn’t bad considering his team were relegated after finishing two points from safery in the end.

Midfielder targeted

The Oxford Mail claim Oxford United are keen on Arsenal midfielder Tim Akinola as they look to bolster their options in the middle of the park. The League One side are said to have identified the 22-year-old as a potential addition as they look to continue their recruitment drive under Liam Manning.

Akinola had spells in the academies at Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town before moving down south to join the Gunners as a youngster in 2020. He has since been a regular at U23’s level and is still waiting on his senior debut. However, he has gained experience out on loan in the Scottish Premiership with Dundee United and more recently in the National League with Chesterfield with his next destination currently unknown.
