Arsenal will conclude their Europa League group stage matches on Thursday when they face FC Zurich at the Emirates Stadium then will have just three more domestic matches before the winter break.

After this week’s European clash, Mikel Arteta’s side take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and Wolves the following weekend either side of an EFL Cup tie against Brighton. Club football then goes on hiatus until after Christmas as the FIFA World Cup finals take centre stage. By the time they are back in action, it will be just days until the January transfer window opens and the Gunners can start buying and selling once again.

One position they could look to add a bit of depth to is the wide attacking areas and the North London club could have their eye on a stand out from the USA. According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are targeting Uruguayan winger Facundo Torres who currently plays for MLS side Orlando City. Here is everything you need to know about the player including what is being reported:

Who is Facundo Torres? Uruguayan winger linked with Arsenal

Facundo Torres is a 22-year old winger who plays for Orlando City in Major League Soccer (MLS). He began his career at Peñarol in his native Uruguay where he made 71 appearances in all competitions over the 2020 and 2021 seasons and won the Uruguayan Primera División in 2021. He netted 16 goals for the club before earning a move to Orlando in January 2022 for a reported $9 million fee.

His debut season in the MLS was an impressive one as the winger scored 13 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions and helped his side to win the 2022 U.S. Open Cup. On the international stage he represented Uruguay at various youth levels before earning his first senior cap in 2021. Since then the 22- year old has won a total of 10 caps but has yet to score for his country at senior level.
