Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka faces a nervous wait to determine the extent of damage after he picked up an injury in the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest over the weekend. The Gunners thrashed Forest to return to the top of the league table but everyone at the club is worried about the injury to Saka as he’s a key figure for both club and country.

The winger had to be forced off after being at the receiving end of a heavy tackle and tried as he did to continue, he was unable to and had to be eventually replaced by Reiss Nelson. Mikel Arteta told the press: “Hopefully not. It was a bad kick. Right from the beginning, he was limping, but I don’t see any further than that, he will be assessed.”

The young Arsenal forward is one of the players carrying the hopes of his country and injury to him at this time of the year with barely three weeks to the World Cup will prove almost devastating for Gareth Southgate who is expected to name the final squad for the World Cup in 10 days.

Saka was one of the shining lights of Euro 2020 and has been a key member of Arsenal side that is top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners have exceeded expectations with a storming start to the Premier League and after 12 games lead second placed Manchester City by two points.
