Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all keeping tabs on one of Republic of Ireland’s top young talents, according to reports.

The three European heavyweights are all eyeing up a move for Shamrock Rovers star Naj Razi, who has made a flying start to life in the League of Ireland.

Razi is a 17-year-old footballer, who is capable of playing in a number of positions including central midfield, striker and either wing.

He made three first team appearances for Shamrock Rovers in the 2023 season and played an impressive role in helping his team through the final stages of the season as they secured a 21st league title.

Razi has been on the books of Shamrock’s youth team since he was seven-years-old and has progressed rapidly through the club’s academy system.

His impressive performances have garnered recognition from the Republic of Ireland’s U17 team and he has already been capped 14 times, registering four goals and four assists - including a winner against Wales in the U17 European Championships.

Razi showed early signs of promise last season and is tipped to have an even bigger role in Stephen Bradley’s side next season.

Chelsea and Arsenal have both shown interest in the player, according to The Sun. But rules surrounding the UK’s exit from the European Union could act as a barrier to a move, whilst handing Real Madrid a vital advantage.

As a result of the Brexit referendum UK clubs are unable to sign any player from abroad until they are at least 18-years-old. Which means the London duo would have to wait until at least 2025.

However, Spain’s European status allows them to begin talks much earlier and discussions with the player could begin as soon as the January transfer window starts - if they were to make a move.
