Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to make Arsenal the best club in the world, he admitted after the Gunners put in an exhilarating performance against Newcastle United to blow the Geordies away by a score of 4-1.

The Emirates Stadium was rocking under the lights on Saturday night with an atmosphere to remember as Arsenal bounced back from Champions League defeat in style. The Spaniard was asked about the fervent Emirates Stadium atmosphere after the match. Arteta said: "Really impressive! Thank you so much to everyone and to the club as well, it's pushing for that. It makes a huge difference. We want to be the best club in the world - we want to have the best stadium and atmosphere in the world.

"The team is hitting form and at the moment they are performing, there isn't any secret. We score goals in various ways, we score one and want the second, the third and the fourth. I love that mentality. We have to do that because we won a lot of games when we deserved more. Today could have been more as well."

Arsenal went ahead through a Sven Botman own goal, turned in after another impressive Gabriel header. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka found the net on either side of half-time before Jakub Kiwor nodded in from another corner with 20 minutes left to play.

However, it was midfielder Jorginho who caught the eye at the Emirates Stadium with Arteta praising a 'top player' with a 'big impact' as he adjusts to coming in and out of the side - the midfielder scored a 9/10 on our player ratings but was eclipsed by a 'delicious' 10/10 on the night.
