Arsenal will be without centre-back William Saliba because of a back injury. Arteta has said: “There’s not been a real improvement unfortunately on him, so we are still waiting. It’ll be another week that has gone by and he hasn’t been able to train with the team.”

Midfielder Granit Xhaka missed their last game against Southampton due to illness and is a doubt. Elsewhere, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are both out until the end of the campaign with knee injuries.

Oleksandr Zinchenko returned from his knock against the Saints and is fit to face his former club. He won four titles during his time in the North West.

As for City, defender Nathan Ake has a hamstring problem and is expected to miss out again. Speaking ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash against Sheffield United last time out, Guardiola said: “He’s not ready for tomorrow but I don’t know the damage. I think today (last Friday) they make the final test to know exactly what he has.”

Apart from that, they have no fresh concerns. Phil Foden is back after having his appendix removed.
