Tottenham Hotspur have parted company with interim boss Cristian Stellini following their heavy 6-1 loss away at Newcastle United over the weekend. Ryan Mason has placed in caretaker charge until the end of the season.

Stellini joined Spurs back in 2021 as assistant and also stepped in for Conte earlier this year after he had Gallbladder surgery. The 48-year-old has also worked at Juventus and Inter Milan in the past.

He has struggled to lift the team over recent week and the responsibility now lies with Mason, who made 70 appearances for the club in his playing days before leaving for Hull City. First up for him is a home clash against Manchester United on Thursday.

A club statement on Monday evening read: “Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff. Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.”
