Chelsea will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge this Friday in, not just a title-race showdown, but a Conti Cup Finals preview. The two sides will be meeting again in just a few weeks at the Molineux Stadium in a bid to win yet more silverware but they first half the challenge of securing a vital three points as the race at the top of the Women's Super League heats up.

With outgoing manager Emma Hayes's side on the same number of points as Manchester City, with the Gunners just three points below, any slip ups this weekend can result in bidding farewell to a seventh title, while a defeat for Jonas Eidevall's side also means the end to any hopes for a fourth WSL trophy.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, the recently injured Vivianne Miedema said of her Arsenal teammates: "The girls are confident and they have got right to be. We all know and we all realise how important that game is on Friday. I'd be very disappointed if they aren't ready and up for it but I'm sure they will be.

"It's a six-point game. If we lose, we're six points behind, which is going to be extremely tough and probably not doable. If we beat Chelsea, we still play Man City away. Everything is to play for."
