Mikel Arteta responds to 'celebration police' question as Kai Havertz praises Arsenal's collective

The Gunners continued their outstanding Premier League form after a 5-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Martin Odegaard for his excellent form following the 5-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor. Martin Odegaard netted the opener, as Bukayo Saka scored twice before Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz added to the goal tally in a rampant win for the Gunners against Vincent Kompany's side.

Jamie Carragher was among the high-profile critics of Arsenal's post-match celebrations in recent weeks, prompting Odegaard to come up with a new celebration as he gave the north Londoners an early lead in Lancashire.

"I don’t know. I didn’t notice him make that gesture," said Arteta after the game.

"He was really happy in the dressing room. I don’t think he needs to send any messages.

"He needs to do what he feels. If he wants to do something then do it and deal with the consequences. We want him to do it because we really like it.

"I think confidence-wise he’s in a really good moment. Physically as well the way he’s applied himself defending and attacking.

"The connection and the movement that he gives us on that right hand side it’s really good. He’s hitting form."

Meanwhile, Kai Havertz insists Arsenal need to continue their hard work after winning all of their games in 2024 so far.

"We are in a good moment, we have won all of the games so far so it feels good. Behind that was hard work and there are many hard games to come. We have to continue the hard work.

"We wanted to start the game very well and we lacked that at West Ham. We wanted to change that so the early goal was very important to us. We scored a few more good goals and we're happy with the win."
