Arsenal land needed £110m attacking duo and see three January departures - AI predicts transfers
AI predicted that Arsenal will make three signings in the January transfer window and will sell three players.
Arsenal are yet to make a move in the January transfer window, however, they haven’t been short of links to some top-level players. The Gunners are currently second in the league table, six points away from Arne Slot’s Liverpool side, who also have a game in hand.
In their last game, Arsenal lost on penalties to rivals Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday after a 1-1 draw following extra time. After the two poor results, Arteta will be keen to bring some new faces in through the door, in order to improve his squad’s chances of a Premier League title. We asked Chat GPT, who Arsenal could sell and sign during the January window.
AI predicts Arsenal’s January departures
Before looking at who the Gunners could sign in January, AI also predicted that they will sell three players during the current transfer window.
Kieran Tierney to Celtic
The first January prediction doesn’t come as a surprise, as AI suggested that the Gunners will sell Scotland international Tierney back to Celtic. He joined Arsenal from the Scottish side in 2019 and has more recently struggled with injury problems causing his game time at the Emirates to dwindle in recent seasons. Tierney has been linked with a move back to Celtic, which will likely happen as a loan deal before his contract at Arsenal expires at the end of the season. He will then be free to sign for Celtic as a free agent in the summer.
Jakub Kiwior to the Serie A
Despite comments from Arteta in the Autumn saying how important Kiwior is to the Arsenal squad, AI predicted that the Gunners will sell the Polish defender in January. There have been reports linking Kiwior to several Serie A clubs, including Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan. A summer move would be more likely as Arsenal will be keen to keep their defensive depth this winter.
Leandro Trossard to a ‘top European club’
The Belgian winger was linked over a move to the Saudi Pro League during the summer transfer window, but rumours have been quiet in recent months. Trossard has made 20 Premier League appearances this season, scoring three goals and two assists. His contract at the Emirates expires next summer, so the Gunners would likely want to offload him in summer at least if they don’t want to extend his contract.
AI predicts Arsenal’s January signings
Viktor Gyokeres - Sporting CP to Arsenal
The first player that AI predicted Arsenal will sign in January is Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres, who they have been linked to for an extended period of time. The Sweden international looks unlikely to make a big transfer during the January window, despite the heavy interest in him from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United. He has scored 32 goals in 30 games in all competitions so far this season, marking himself as one of the most prolific strikers in world football. Gyokeres could likely cost around £62m, should the Gunners decide to pursue him.
Nico Williams - Athletic Bilbao to Arsenal
The Spaniard has been heavily linked with the Gunners in recent weeks, with reports suggesting that Arsenal could pay his £48m release clause to land him as a replacement for Bukayo Saka. Saka is currently out injured with a hamstring issue, and he could miss up to three more months, which is a huge blow for Arteta. His wage bill is heavy, which makes the possibility of a January transfer a tricky one, however, with Saka out, it could be a sacrifice that the Gunners are prepared to make.
Ivan Fresneda - Sporting CP to Arsenal
Yet another Sporting CP player, 20-year-old Fresneda would be more of a depth piece in defence. He can play at right-back, right midfield and centre-back, making him a valuable asset should the Gunners see some injury problems in defence. Fresneda is yet to be linked to a Premier League club, but seeing as his market value is around £6m, Arsenal would be able to afford a simple deal to land the Spaniard, who would replace any sale of Jakub Kiwior.
