Arsenal strike key ‘agreement’ with midfield star as defender secures loan switch

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta and Edu look to add new faces to their squad.

Arsenal are now entering the final weekend of their pre-season.

The Gunners have enjoyed a successful summer schedule, touring the States and seeing off Chelsea last time out.

They will take on Sevilla in their last friendly of the summer, and in the meantime, Arsenal will still be working on new signings.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.

Tielemans agreement

Arsenal are said to have agreed personal terms with Leicester City star Youri Tielemans.

The Gunners have been eyeing a deal for the Belgian all summer, with the midfielder out of contract in one year’s time.

And according to Express, a deal has been reached with Tielemans, but a deal has not been reached with Leicester just yet.

Werner claims

The Gunners are said to be interested in landing a deal for Chelsea star Timo Werner.

Werner could yet leave the Blues this summer after raising concerns over his playing time ahead of the World Cup.

Defensa Central say Arsenal could be interested in a deal, but it seems unlikely Chelsea will sell to Arsenal given they could well be direct rivals.

Tavares departs

Arsenal have decided to send full-back Nuno Tavares on loan for the coming season.

Tavares has joined Marseille on a season-long loan deal, following William Saliba’s path, with the centre-back impressing with Marseille last season.

Tavares has only been with Arsenal for a season, but it seems Arteta feels he needs more experience elsewhere before he can become a Gunners regular again, making 22 appearances last season.

The Portuguese star is only 22 years of age, so he still has plenty of time to turn his Arsenal career around.
