Arsenal £40m striker target 'really keen' on Premier League move amid Liverpool links

The Egyptian star is learning from Mohamed Salah ahead of hopeful move to Premier League

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush, who is keen to secure a Premier League move as soon as 2025. If the Gunners are keen to pursue a deal, however, they may well face familiar competition with Liverpool, Crystal Palace and West Ham also said to be interested.

The 25-year-old enjoyed an exceptionally impressive 2023/24 campaign, scoring 17 goals in 43 fixtures for the Bundesliga side, and his form has subsequently seen him on the radar of several of the Premier League’s top clubs, including the Gunners who have long been on the hunt for an out-and-out striker.

In the recent summer transfer window, none of the aforementioned sides did move to sign the forward, but he was the subject of three approaches from Nottingham Forest. Despite Forest’s offer of £20m reportedly failing to turn into a deal, reports from TEAMTalk have indicated that Marmoush continues to be ‘really keen on a move’ to England’s top league, dreaming of following his close friend and ‘big brother’ Mohamed Salah.

According to the reports, Marmoush currently has no release clause in his Die Adler contract, but it is likely that it would take a fee of around €47.5m (£40m) to convince the Bundesliga side to sell one of their most valuable assets.

Sections of the media indicated that while both the Reds and Gunners have been linked with a move for the 32-times capped Egyptian star, their interest is not yet considered to be concrete. A new striker is not said to be a main priority for Arne Slot’s side at present, despite the possible loss of Salah in under 12 months time, while Arsenal continue to have Viktor Gyokeres at the top of their wish-list, according to Fabrizio Romano.

While Forest could well come back for a fourth attempt at signing Marmoush, the reports understand that it is either Crystal Palace or West Ham that look most likely to procure the 25-year-old’s services at this stage.

While Oliver Glasner’s side are said to potentially eyeing a replacement for Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has greatly impressed under the Eagles’ new coach, West Ham could well be looking to the future as Irons stars Danny Ings and Michail Antonio will soon see their contracts at the London Stadium expire.

Reports already emerged that a new striker to help Niclas Fullkrug is a key priority for Julen Lopetegui, with Marmoush an obvious candidate, but as Glasner managed the Frankfurt star during their time at the Deutsche Bank Arena, an interest in reuniting has become clear.
