Arsenal are already said to have made contact with Real Sociedad over a possible move for striker Alexander Isak.

The Gunners are continuing their search for a new striker ahead of this summer, even with Alexandre Lacazette’s heroics on Thursday night.

A number of strikers have already been linked ahead of the summer, and one of those is Isak, who has impressed for La Real over the last 18 months.

He also stood out during Sweden’s Euro 2020 campaign, but he is not going to come cheap, if at all.

Isak has a release clause worth €80million (£66million), and according to Sport, Arsenal have already made contact in a bid to reduce the fee they would have to pay.

Crucially, Real Sociedad have fallen out of the Europa League in the meantime, and their bid to reach the top six in La Liga is looking in doubt.

Isak’s representatives are not said to have engaged in any deep discussions yet, and rumour has it the striker may wait to see if Barcelona want to make a move first.

Though, the Blaugrana may well prioritise a move for Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland this summer.

That could give Arsenal a clean shot at Isak, but they are unlikely to pay as much as £66million, especially with Lille forward Jonathan David reportedly available for £50million

In the meantime, the Gunners also need to look at Lacazette’s expiring contract, but it has been made clear that is unlikely to happen until the summer.
