Arsenal are still working towards full match fitness following the extended World Cup break.

The Gunners return to competitive action after Christmas, but in the meantime, they have been taking part in friendlies in a bid to regain the sharpness they built up in an impressive start before the break. Mikel Arteta’s have already beaten Lyon and AC Milan in friendlies clashes, and they play again on Saturday, taking on Serie A giants Juventus at the Emirates Stadium.

Ahead of that clash, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Gunners.

Rabiot blow

Arsenal are likely to miss out on reported target Adrien Rabiot, according to the latest reports.

The Gunners need more help in midfield, and Rabiot has emerged as an option, out of contract at the end of this season. But according to Sport, despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, Rabiot would prefer to move to Barcelona. Whether he will go is another question, with the report making it clear the Frenchman is yet to have decided on his future.

But it’s claimed his preference would be Barcelona over Arsenal and Liverpool if it came down to it, if indeed the La Liga club can afford to add another bid contract amid financial issues.

Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Arsenal’s summer transfer plans amid links with Mykhalo Mudryk and Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

“Dusan Vlahovic speculation goes on,” he told CaughtOffside. “I’m told there are no contacts with Arsenal as things stand, then let’s see in January but it’s quiet now. Vlahovic is focused on recovering from his injury, this is a key point; he’s not 100% fit yet. I think Vlahovic is always a good idea for top clubs but Juventus should not sell him after just 11 months.

“At the moment it’s Arsenal pushing for Mykhaylo Mudryk but there’s still no advanced negotiation on the fee.”
