Arsenal ‘line up’ £16m Eddie Nketiah replacement as Mikel Arteta eyes £60m transfer budget boost

Arsenal are heading back to Europe after a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

The Gunners were aiming for Champions League qualification, but they had to settle for Europa League after they were beaten by rivals Tottenham in the race for fourth.

It was a disappointing end to the campaign, but Arsenal have improved significantly this season, and Mikel Arteta will be pleased with the progress his side have made.

Hlozek links

Arsenal are being linked with a move for Sparta Prague frontman Adam Hlozek.

Hlozek has scored 12 and assisted 15 so far this season, netting a goal in each of the Europa League and the Conference League.

Liverpool have previously been linked, but The Athletic are now saying Arsenal could make a move if Eddie Nketiah moves on at the end of his deal.

Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with an interest, and he’s said to worth around £16m.

Player sales

Arsenal are keen to raise a big chunk of money from player sales this summer.

That’s according to the Mirror, who claim the Gunners want to bring in as much as £60million from outgoings.

It’s claimed as many as nine players may be forced to contemplate an exit, with Nicolas Pepe the most likely to be sold.

Nketiah latest

Crystal Palace are being backed to move for Nketiah ahead of the striker’s contract coming to an end.

Arsenal are said to be trying to keep Nketiah following a fine run of form from the youngster towards the back-end of the season.

But The Telegraph now say Palace are lining up a move for the 22-year-old as they look to build on a fine campaign under Patrick Vieira.
