Arsenal could ‘return’ with fresh offer as Mikel Arteta ‘risks’ Youri Tielemans transfer

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta chases improvements for his squad this summer.

Edu and Mikel Arteta continue to work away behind the scenes to secure new signings at Arsenal.

A big season awaits the Gunners amid a return to Europe and a likely challenge for a top four spot following a fifth-place finish in the season just gone.

Arsenal have already managed some additions, with the likes of Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos snapped up, but more key signings are needed.

The Gunners need a striker, and that’s not the only area they are likely to strengthen before the end of the window.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Raphinha offer

Arsenal are said to be likely to submit an improved offer for Leeds United star Raphinha.

The Gunners saw their opening offer rejected by Leeds, who are reportedly asking for as much as £65million for their star winger.

According to Sport, via SportWitness, Barcelona remain hesitant, not likely to make a move unless Ousmane Dembélé leaves later this month.

But the report adds that Arsenal could be set to make an improved offer.

Saliba chase

Marseille are said to have been given the green light to pursue a deal for William Saliba this summer.

Saliba spent the season on loan with Marseille last summer, missing only two of their Ligue 1 games, and it’s reported the French giants could push for a permanent deal this summer.

Reports have suggested Marseille may struggle to complete the deal for financial reasons, but RMC Sport are now saying French football’s spending watchdog DNCG have approved the club’s spending plan for this summer.

That could give them the room they need to chase a deal.

Tielemans risk

Arsenal are said to be aware of the risk they are running over Youri Tielemans.

The Gunners are said to be interested in the Leicester City star, who could be sold this summer ahead of his deal expiring next year.

According to Fabrizio Romano, via CaughtOffside, Arsenal want to sign Tielemans, but they are concentrating on the signing of Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners are said to be aware that their emphasis on Jesus could give other clubs the chance to move in on the midfielder.
