Arteta is going to need a more robust squad for the return to Europe, though, and new signings are expected this summer.
With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest rumours.
Hickey deal ‘close’
Arsenal are now said to be closing in on the signing of Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey.

Hickey will arrive to provide competition for Kieran Tierney, still only 19 but already a first-team player in Serie A.
Marquinhos update
One player who could rival Hickey to become the first summer signing is Sao Paulo starlet Marquinhos.
According to Globo Esporte, the Gunners have agreed a £3million deal that could be completed within the next 10 days.

Meanwhile, Wolves are said to be considering legal action after reportedly agreeing a pre-contract agreement first.
Neves blow
Arsenal have suffered a setback in their reported bid to land Wolves star Ruben Neves this summer.
According to Sport, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has put a personal call in to the Wolves midfielder in a bid to get ahead in the race.
Arsenal may be left playing catch up, with Barca clearly intent to sign the Portuguese star, while Manchester United have also been linked.
