Arsenal may be rapidly improving, but they continue to be linked with a number of new players ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners continued their charge towards a top-four finish over the weekend thanks to a win over Brentford, with goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka.

Mikel Arteta’s men are now closing in on the top four, and they still have games in hand to play.

But while the improvements have been significant this season, there is still work to do before they become what Arteta envisaged when he took over from Unai Emery.

And part of reaching that potential is the acquisition of new players, something the Gunners will be looking to do efficiently in the summer window.

According to the latest transfer rumours, work is already underway behind the scenes, too, with fresh talk of moves continuing to pour in.

Alvaro Morata talk

One of the latest rumours involved former Chelsea frontman Alvaro Morata, who has been linked with the Gunners by Calciomercato.

It has been claimed that Arsenal could swoop in with a €30million offer as they look to land their new striker.

Arteta has been looking at landing a taller striker who can hold the ball up and prove dangerous in front of goal, and it seems Morata may have caught the eye.

Morata is currently in the second year of a two-year Juventus loan spell, but the Italian club are not expected to take up their option to buy.

Atletico Madrid are not likely to welcome him back, either, and transfer is likely for the Spain international this summer.

Fabian Ruiz links

Another Spaniard to have been linked with Arsenal recently is midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

The Napoli star is being touted for a move this summer, with Napoli said to be keen to offload due to the midfielder’s contract being set to expire in 2023.

Arsenal are said to be interested, with The Mirror claiming club representatives have already met the player’s agent.

Meanwhile, the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid are being linked, so this move may not be a straightforward one.

Fabio Carvalho

Arsenal are said to have pulled out of the race to sign Fulham star Fabio Carvalho.

The Gunners were linked with Carvalho through the back-end of January and beyond, but no move materialised.

In fact, it was Liverpool who came closest to pulling off a deal, and the Daily Star say they and Manchester United are still interested.

But both Arsenal and Tottenham are said to have pulled out.
