Arsenal have reportedly been joined by Manchester United in pursuit of Real Vallodolid defender Ivan Fresneda. The youngster is a man in-demand in this transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, Erik ten Hag’s side are ‘pushing’ to land the right-back ahead of the Gunners and Newcastle United. He is said to have a release clause of just £8.8million.

Fresneda, 18, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and his side are facing a battle to keep hold of him between now and the end of the month. Leeds United have also been linked with a swoop for him, as per Spanish news outlet AS.

Arsenal could see Fresneda as an ideal long-term option for them on the right side of defence. He is a Spain youth international and has already made 13 appearances for Real Vallodolid’s first-team so far in his career.

Prior to his move there, he had spells in the academies at Real Madrid and Leganes. His contract expires in June 2025 but they risk losing him already amid interest from England.

Elsewhere, Arsenal continue contract talks with defender William Saliba, as per the Evening Standard. He has been a hit since returning from his loan at Marseille.
