19 World Cup stars that Arsenal could target after Gabriel Jesus injury - plus brilliant action photos

Arsenal will face West Ham on December 26 in their first Premier League match of the month

Arsenal are only two weeks away from returning to Premier League action following the World Cup. While fans will be raring to get back to the Emirates Stadium, they will be wishing Gabriel Jesus was joining them.

The striker made one start and two substitute appearances for Brazil before he suffered a knee injury in their final group stage clash with Cameroon. Jesus was forced to undergo surgery and now faces a number of months on the sidelines - leaving Arsenal rather short up top.

The Gunners have since been linked with a number of attackers as they look to bolster their squad depth, while they also remain interested in stars all over the pitch ahead of the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta will be eager for his squad to be as strong as possible as they look to avoid losing their lead at the top of the Premier League table in the second half of the campaign.

Ahead of the window opening in three weeks’ time, we take a look at some of the best players from this winter’s World Cup that Arsenal could target.
