Gallas believes that the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City has “had a good impact” on Mikel Arteta’s system while describing Richarlison, who joined Spurs from Everton, as “very clever”.

The two Brazilians are expected to feature in this weekend’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.

“Richarlison for Tottenham is a good signing,” said Gallas, speaking to Genting Casino.

“At the beginning he was on the bench and that was normal because he’d just arrived so it was important for him to settle at the club and to get to know his teammates better, and slowly start to integrate into the starting 11.

“When you see him play, he’s very clever because he knows he always has to find Harry Kane so when he plays he’s always looking for him and you can feel them understand each other. So that’s good for Tottenham.

“For Arsenal, I think Gabriel Jesus has had a good impact on Arteta’s system, he’s brought his experience with him from City and he’s very strong.

“He makes space for other players to go beyond him, so I think those two players are the best signings for both teams.”

Jesus has been in impressive form for the Gunners since his arrival, chipping in with four goals in seven Premier League games while also earning plaudits for his ability to link play with the Gunners other attacking options.

Meanwhile, his countryman has also earned plaudits for his performances in recent games at Spurs.

Not only will the two players be competing against each other for Premier League points and derby bragging rights this weekend but there is also the small matter of the FIFA World Cup which is fast approaching.

Brazil have a wealth of attacking options to call up such as Neymar, Vinícius Júnior and Antony among several others.

Richarlison was called up to the most recent Brazil squad while Jesus was left out and the two could very well be in direct competition for a spot in the group that will travel to Qatar.
