Sarah Beeny lights a candle to honour charity after going to hospital for further breast cancer treatment

Sarah Beeny honoured a brain tumour research charity on Wednesday evening as she lit a candle with her son.

Sarah Beeny was joined by her son as she paid tribute to a brain tumour research charity on Wednesday, after revealing that she is seeking further treatment for breast cancer.

The presenter and property expert, 51, from Reading, announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2022. She lost her mother to the same disease when she was just aged 10.

The New Life in the Country host took to Instagram on Wednesday evening, in a joint post with The Entitled Sons, who are an indie band featuring all four of Sarah’s sons. The post was shared collectively to more than 364,000 followers.

The caption read: “#shinealight for @braintumourrsch thanks for the amazing work you do!! Xx ps @nickyjohnston stunning candle you made, thanks so much Xx”

In the clip Sarah can be seen sitting alongside her son in a dimly lit room, with a candle on the table in front of them. Sarah addresses her followers, saying: “We’re lighting a candle for Brain Tumour Research,” after which her son lights the candle with a blow torch.

She jokingly adds: “Perhaps we should use a match next time.”

Sarah’s children are evidently proud of the strength she has shown whilst receiving treatment, and regularly post their own tributes to her on their band’s Instagram account.

The Entitled Sons recently posted a photo of their brave mother from a hospital bed, and expressed their gratitude to both the Royal Marsden and Yeovil hospitals, where she has received treatment.

In the photo, Sarah can be seen showing off her ‘tattoos,’ markings which were made by doctors to determine where treatment was to be administered. The mother-of-four, who decided to shave her hair, after it started to fall out in clumps, pulled a silly face as she pointed towards her new ink.

The young band captioned the post: “Mum finally got some tattoos! Thank you so much to @royalmarsdennhs and @yeovil_hospital_nhs for taking such amazingly brilliant care of her. #tattoo #mum.”

Followers flooded the comments with their well wishes for the TV presenter, with one saying: “Sending love and healing to your mum and to you lovely boys. Your mum is bloody amazing.”

Another wrote: “Sending big hugs and love to you all - go Sarah kick cancer’s butt you’ve got this you’re in the best hospital in the U.K. for this - they did remarkable things for a friend of mine who had seven tumours on the brain. He survived!! @royalmarsden.”

A third added: “Sending love to you all. Remember having similar tattoos myself.”
