However, this won't be the first time the capital has had snow over this year's holiday period. London was treated to its first few flakes of the Christmas season at the start of the month as parts of the city experienced light flurries on Friday (December 1).

Here's the latest forecast for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, including whether it is expected to snow.

Will it snow in London on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day?

According to a weather map on WX Charts, Londoners could see snowfall on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day while rain is expected to follow on Boxing Day.

On the weather service's UK map, London is shown to have a few patches of purple over the two festive days, which highlights possible snowfall. Throughout Boxing Day the map features blue patches over the city which symbolises rainfall.

While most of the patches of purple appear to be more of a paler shade over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, indicating lighter snowfall, the map shows London to be at the centre of a darker patch on Christmas Eve, suggesting heavier snow could fall then.
