Trump Not Welcome protest in London: Start time, route, and Parliament Square rally details

A ‘National Demonstration Against Trump’s State Visit’ organised by the Stop Trump Coalition will take place in Central London tomorrow (Wednesday 17th September).

After a busy weekend of protests in London, the streets of the capital will fill with demonstrators again tomorrow (September 13), as anti-Trump activists oppose his state visit.

The protest has been organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, a band of UK campaigners who oppose the President and his political views.

Last week, the group launched a petition to prevent the State Visit from taking place. The group wrote on its website: “Instead of bowing and scraping, we demand the government stands up to Trump by cancelling the state visit.”

Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK is historically significant, as he is the first US President to be granted a second state visit. Instead, second-term Presidents are usually invited for lunch or tea with the Monarch.

What time and where is the ‘Trump Not Welcome’ protest in London tomorrow?

The ‘Trump Not Welcome’ protest will assemble from 2pm in Portland Place, before the march begins at 3pm.

The march will go via Regent Street, through Piccadilly Circus, then along Whitehall (past Downing Street) to Parliament Square.

A rally will then take place in Parliament Square from 5pm until 7pm, where campaigners will deliver speeches disputing his state visit and other policies on issues such as climate change and immigration.

Donald Trump’s visit to the UK 2025

The President’s UK State Visit is being treated as a high-security operation with armed police officers poised to patrol Windsor, where the majority of the visit will take place.

Police have said they are preparing for “every eventuality” given the size and profile of both the state visit and the expected protests in both London and Windsor.

Similar scenes occurred in June 2019, when the President and First Lady visited the UK for the traditional state visit with Queen Elizabeth II.
