TfL this weekend May 13-14: Tube, Overground, Elizabeth line and bus travel amid train strikes

London Underground, Elizabeth line and Overground services all face limited disruption this weekend.

With rail strikes returning this weekend, there will be an impact on Transport for London (TfL) services as well as planned changes to services.

Rail unions rejected the most recent pay offer from the Rail Delivery Group. ASLEF members are on strike today (Friday May 12) and RMT members will be walking out tomorrow (Saturday May 13).

ASLEF members have further action planned for Wednesday May 31 and Saturday June 3. An overtime ban for members is being implemented from Monday May 15 to Saturday May 20 inclusive, and on Saturday May 13 and Thursday June 1.

Here is what is happening on TfL services this weekend:

Central line

On Friday night into Saturday there will be no Night Tube between Marble Arch and Loughton/Hainault, from 1.30am to 4.45am. Use local bus routes 94, 148, N8, N25 or N205, the Jubilee line Night Tube service between Bond Street and Stratford or the rail replacement bus service.

On Saturday and Sunday there is no service between Liverpool Street and Woodford/ Newbury Park, including Night Tube on Saturday night. Use alternative Tube, Elizabeth line, local bus routes 58, 66, 97, 123, 145, 257, 396, N8 and N25 or rail replacement bus services.

District line

Due to national rail strike action, the following services are affected:

  • No service between Richmond and Gunnersbury before 7am and after 11pm on Saturday.
  • The first train departing Richmond will be cancelled on Sunday.
  • The last services to Gunnersbury will depart Turnham Green from 00.10am.

Northern line

There will be no step-free access to or from the Northern line at Bank station over the weekend. Passengers will be able to use Moorgate or London Bridge stations, which are connected to Bank via bus routes 21, 43 and 141. Step-free access will still be available to and from the DLR via the lift on King William Street.

All trains will serve the station as usual, but the Cannon Street ticket hall will be closed. Customers who do not require step-free access should use the ticket halls at Monument, or at the junction of Lombard Street and Cornhill, for the Northern line and DLR platforms.

London Overground

On Saturday, Due to national rail strike action, there will be no service between Richmond and Kew Gardens before 7am and after 11pm. Strikes mean there will also be no service between Watford High Street and Watford Junction before 7am and after 7pm.

On Saturday there will be no service between Sydenham and West Croydon.

On Sunday, there is no service between Camden Road and Stratford after 10.15pm; no service between Barking and Barking Riverside; and no service between New Cross Gate and West Croydon/Crystal Palace.

Elizabeth line

Due to national rail strike action, the following services will be affected on Saturday:

  • No service between Shenfield and Brentwood after 11.55pm.
  • No service between Maidenhead and Reading before 7am or after 7pm.
  • No services to/from Paddington National Rail platforms before 7pm or after 7pm.

London Trams

On Saturday, Wimbledon station may be affected by the planned national rail strike. If the station has to close, services will terminate at Dundonald Road.

Buses and roads

Bus services will be impacted by a number of events this weekend. TfL says it expects to run a good service, but that buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

  • Friday to Sunday - Wimbledon Park: The Pub in the Park event will be taking place. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
  • Saturday - Wembley Stadium: The National League Play Off between Chesterfield and Notts County is taking place. Kick off is at 3.30pm. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
  • Sunday - Wembley Stadium: The Women’s FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester United is taking place. Kick off is at 2.30pm. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
