All Eurostar and Southeastern rail services to and from St Pancras were cancelled on Saturday morning (December 30) due to flooding in tunnels under the Thames.

The incidents come at the end of a week of widespread disruption around the country due to Storm Gerrit.

Passengers are advised to check before they travel, with Southeastern saying disruption is expected until the end of the day.

The company said: "Flooding has occurred in both railway tunnels near Ebbsfleet International, meaning both tunnels are closed. This means no trains can run between London St Pancras International and Ebbsfleet International."

Southeastern is running shuttle services between Ramsgate and Ashford International via Canterbury West/Ashford International via Dover Priory/Faversham. Tickets can be used on alternative National Rail and Transport for London (TfL) routes.

According to Eurostar's website: "Due to an infrastructure problem on the high-speed line near London, we're having to cancel some trains on our route to/from London on Saturday December 30."
