Lottie Moss has divided opinion after arguing that people should focus on achieving their own success instead of critiquing others, amid the viral “nepo babies” debate on social media.

The OnlyFans star, 24, from London, who is the sister of supermodel Kate Moss, 48, vented about the ongoing discussion about people benefitting from their already famous and successful family members to her 55,000 Twitter followers.

She admitted to being “sick of” hearing people complain that they have limited success because they don’t have industry connections, while arguing that people need to focus on working hard to accomplish their goals.

Lottie’s tweet divided opinions amid calls for celebrities to acknowledge their “privilege” after New York Magazine sparked a debate with their recent cover and an article penned by Vulture writer Nate Jones.

Nate said the nepo-baby “label was something you were born with”, as he discussed the term in an article titled ‘The Year of the Nepo Baby’.

“A nepo baby is physical proof that meritocracy is a lie,” he wrote. “We love them, we hate them, we disrespect them, we’re obsessed with them.”

Lottie Moss was evidently annoyed by the ongoing discussion and argued that people shouldn’t focus on the connections others have benefitted from to achieve their success.

Lottie wrote: “I’m so sick of people blaming nepotism for why they aren’t rich and famous or successful - obviously it’s not fair that people who come from famous families are getting a leg up because of that but guess what? Life isn’t fair - if you put your mind to something you can accomplish anything! So instead of being negative about other people’s success, go and try and create your own!”

The tweet quickly racked up thousands of quote tweets, with responses arguing that Lottie has benefitted from being Kate Moss’s sister.

She responded: “I loveeee that people get so pressed about something that I tweet GET A LIFE.

“And am privileged for numerous other reasons and as I say I am grateful for it all but s***ing on others because of it makes NO sense.

“Obviously I’m privileged being related to a huge model also.”

Lottie added: “I obviously am so grateful that I have had the opportunities I’ve had don’t get it twisted.”

Lottie’s opinion on “nepo babies” comes a week after she claimed that her sister “never really supported” her in a post on Instagram.

She shared a photo of herself with a lengthy caption, saying: “This year has been a crazy one for me, I started out being in the worst place of my life and ended up in the best place I’ve ever been mentally.

“I know it’s hard for people to understand but being In a toxic industry at a very young age really took its toll on me, being judged in the newspaper constantly and having my every move watched since I was 16 has been very difficult for my mental health.

“I understand I have come from a very privileged position being the sister of someone very famous but believe it or not that person never really supported me, my parents were amazing but could not relate to what I was going through and did not know the full extent of what I was going through most of the time, I was pretty much on my own so I had to navigate this by myself and do the best I could which I feel I have.

“Fashion modelling was not for me and had its ups and downs but I do feel it allowed me to meet some amazing people and took me to some amazing places!

“I have never been very good and saying how I feel and I hope this isn’t coming off as “poor me” just remember in this world everything is relative and to remember everyone has been through their own traumas and experiences that they chose to deal with in their own way so please be kind.

“I hope next year is my best yet and thank you for all the support ☺️☺️

And thank you to @jessicaannewoodley for taking these amazing pictures and being an inspiration to me and never judging me since we met a lifetime ago!”
