Boy George has been accused of having double standards after complaining about fellow campmate Scarlette Douglas bringing up his criminal conviction on Wednesday’s episode of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

The Culture Club singer, 61, from London, looked visbly shocked and uncomfortable as he sat across from TV presenter Scarlette Douglas, 35, who casually mentioned: “some guy in handcuffs and a radiator”.

Boy George quipped: “That’s not true, sometimes these things go into the ether, and people keep saying them and they become folklore."

The Place in the Sun presenter claimed that the only reason she asked was that she was unsure whether or not it was “fake news”.

The songwriter shared his disbelief in the Bush Telegraph saying: “Scarlette blatantly talked about my court case. I thought it was inappropriate what she did, actually.

“I thought she shouldn’t have said what she said to me. And I thought I handled it really well as it’s a big sore point for me when people say things like that."

However, viewers of the show took to Twitter to argue that the 80’s pop star seems to have double standards as he asked Matt Hancock about uncomfortable topics and expected to be answered.

One person wrote: “me clocking Boy George’s double standards when being held accountable for his own abhorrent actions”.

Another commented: “So people can ask Matt Hancock anything but when it’s Boy George then you can’t ask him anything”.
