Petra Srncova: Police say death of missing hospital worker ‘not suspicious’ after body found in Camberwell

Police investigating the disappearance of nursing assistant Petra Srncova have found a body in a south London park - but say circumstances are “not suspicious”.

Scotland Yard were called to Brunswick Park in Camberwell, Southwark, at 11.40am on Sunday after a member of the public reported a body of a woman being found.

Formal identification has not taken place yet but the police have informed Ms Srncova’s family in her native Czech Republic.

Her death is being treated as unexplained but initial enquiries suggest the circumstances are not suspicious.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The 32-year-old senior nursing assistant who worked at Evelina London Children’s Hospital was reported missing on Friday December 3 by a concerned colleague.

She was last seen at 8.22pm on Sunday November 28, after taking two buses home from work towards her flat in Camberwell.

The Met said a man was arrested in connection with her disappearance but has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

The Czech Embassy in London said: “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased Czech citizen.

“With regards to the privacy of the family, we will not provide any further comments to the case.”
