Norma Girolami: Man charged with murder over disappearance of woman, 70, from Highgate home


A man has been charged with murder over the disappearance of a 70-year-old woman from leafy north London.
Norma Girolami has been missing since August, with her family growing increasingly worried.

Hide AdDetectives have now charged Serkan Kaygusuz, 41, of Sparsholt Road, Islington, withoher murder, and also for two counts of theft.
He will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today.
Ms Girolami, who lives in posh Highgate, north London, was reported missing to police on September 20.
Officers have conducted searches of several addresses but have been unable to locate her.
Norma lived in a £900,000 flat in a three-storey block of nine apartments.

Hide AdA neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “We always had cordial exchanges.
“She was courteous and a very nice person.”
Another neighbour said: “She was very friendly and always said ‘hello’ even though I did not know her well.
“She would pop in occasionally if she needed something and I would see her in the park.”
A 34-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the investigation has been bailed until a date later this month.
