A man has been charged with the murder of 87-year-old Thomas O'Halloran who was fatally stabbed while riding a mobility scooter in Greenford, west London.

Lee Byer, 44, of Southall, Ealing, will appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court later today (Friday, August 19).

The family of Mr O'Halloran, who was Irish, have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Detectives from the Met’s specialist crime command are leading the case, and say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
