Aggie is a trainee journalist, currently completing her NCTJ fast track course in Journalism at PA Training. She is particularly interested in human interest stories including cost-of-living, housing, homelessness, and the criminal justice system. She is driven by the desire to give a voice to people affected by these circumstances in the hope that, with wider social awareness, something more may be done to alleviate them. She also enjoys writing about celebrity news and culture and, as a London-girl born and bred, life in London and all the things to do there. She has a stockpile of recommendations for pubs, her favourites being the Blue Anchor in Hammersmith on a sunny day or Hagen and Hyde in Balham for the live music every weekend. And couldn’t recommend the Top Secret Comedy Club in Covent Garden more (but let’s keep that one quiet). Prior to starting her journalism course, Aggie worked in sales and marketing at a prison rehabilitative charity in South West London called Fine Cell Work, and before that studied Philosophy and Economics at the University of Edinburgh. She also volunteers every winter at a west London homeless shelter.
