2 players Arsenal are likely to sign this summer, and 4 they probably won’t

Arsenal have enjoyed a strong transfer window so far, making three marquee signings as they look ahead to what they will hope to be another title-challenging season in the Premier League.
But even after bringing in Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice, the Gunners are still eager to strengthen their ranks. Before they can dive back in and splash more cash though, Mikel Arteta and co want to offload some current players to balance the books. That hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from churning though and Arsenal continue to find themselves linked with potential new deals.

David Raya — Likely
The Brentford goalkeeper is said to be pushing for a summer exit as he continues to be connected with an Emirates move. Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Raya and the club are now ready to sit down with their Premier Leagur rivals and discuss the final stages.
Moises Caicedo — Unlikely
Chelsea have been front-runners to sign Caicedo for some time now but there are others in the race and Arsenal were definitely interested. However, reports of a bid in excess of £80 million from a mystery club are doing the rounds right now, which is said to have trumped Chelsea’s efforts.
Considering the Gunners want to sell some players before they make any more big offers, it’s highly unlikely this hefty approach came from them.

Arsenal were in the running for the out of favour Manchester City midfielder earlier in the year, as were several other top flight clubs. But talks have since gone quiet and the likelihood of the Gunners moving for Phillips now they have Rice is slim.
Josip Sutalo — Likely
Arsenal have reportedly launched a bid for Josip Sutalo as they try to get ahead of strong European competition for his signature. TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that the Gunners have ‘already exceeded the €20m (£17m) threshold’ with their approach.
Douglas Luiz — Unlikely
Arteta’s side were firmly in the running for the Aston Villa man but talks have gone from a boil to a simmer in recent weeks. Pundits believe it’s highly unlikely Luiz will leave this summer, having not long signed a new deal with the Villans.
Gabri Veiga — Unlikely
Veiga is another player who Arsenal were once linked to but that ship seems to have sailed now as Liverpool have taken pole position. The Reds have reportedly tabled a €25m (£21.5m) offer to sign the midfielder as they look to plug the gaps left by their recent exodus.
