Wireless 2024 Sunday review: Final day’s headliners Doja Cat and Don Toliver scored well with music fans

Despite wrapping up early for the football, Wireless 2024’s final day hit the back of the net for music fans.

On the day of the Euros final, it's no surprise football was on Wireless 2024 festival goers’ minds on Sunday (July 14).

From fans sporting England team t-shirts as part of their festival looks, Doja Cat even got in the team spirit with an iconic union jack stage look.

The headliner also showed her support during her set as in one moment she came out with what looked to be a metallic Euros football. “I heard there’s a game,” she quipped before tossing it into the crowd shouting “go England.”

Football aside Wireless fans were treated to performances from rising stars via the Amazon Music Stage as well as big names on the main stage across the final day of the weekend festival.

Don Toliver’s set in particular united the two stages with his surprise guest bill which included an appearance from Cash Cobain for a performance of their track Attitude following his headline slot on the Amazon Music Stage earlier in the afternoon.

Three years on from his first Wireless performance, the large crowd of fans that formed around the Main Stage was no doubt a welcome return for him. And he certainly treated them as he also brought out Sexyy Red and Rema following his own Main Stage set.

For each of Toliver’s special guests fans flocked closer to the stage to catch a closer look of the action. The reaction to Sexxy Red’s was especially memorable as fans who were queuing for food at the nearby vendors ran to join the main stage crowd.

Rounding up Wireless’ final day of music was Doja Cat and while it was odd seeing the headliner take to the stage in the early afternoon she made an explosive entrance.

No stranger to the north London festival having previously performed to capital crowds as part of the 2022 event, Doja Cat hit the stage as an array of fireworks shot from cannons which were also well used throughout her set.

Starting off with the Scarlet track, Acknowledge Me, there was clearly no time for breaks as Doja Cat performed tracks back to back across her set.

As well as songs from her latest album she also sang classic hits including, Tia Tamera, Say So, Get Into It (Yuh) and Need To Know.

“That is what I’m talking about … London,” Doja said as she ended the show speaking in a British accent while saying her goodbyes to the capital crowds.

While some fans stayed around in case she came back for an encore, there was no time as the event ended around 7 so fans could get home for the Euros 2024 final kick off at 8pm.
