Every year the point of London’s tallest building lights up at Christmas time to celebrate the holidays in the city.
Visible across the city, locals can look at the capital’s famous skyline and see a sparkle of Christmas magic without being in the city centre.
So if you’re wanting to know when the Shard will light up this Christmas, here’s everything you need to know.
When will the Shard’s Christmas lights switch on in 2025?
The Shard will light up for the 2025 Christmas holidays from November 25. After then it will be switched on daily until New Year’s Eve from around 5pm.
What is the theme of the Shard’s Christmas lights?
Each year, the Shard’s light show features a series of themed sequences, designed to create a magical atmosphere. A new sequence plays every hour.
This year’s display will feature a design inspired by amateur artist and part of the Shard’s housekeeping team, Gustavo Zuluaga Villegas.
Other designs for the festive season include striking rainbow flashes and even a festive reindeer darting across the skyline.
