New rose variety to be displayed in Chelsea department store dedicated to pottery designer Emma Bridgewater
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The rose, dedicated to pottery designer Emma Bridgewater, is part of a display made up of 2500 plant stems in the Peter Jones department store’s windows which is owned by John Lewis & Partners and located in Sloane Square, Chelsea.
The Emma Bridgewater rose was bred, tested, and trialled by rose breeder David Austin Roses over 12 years.

Hide AdDavid J.C. Austin said: “Emma Bridgewater’s works are amongst the most collectable of our time, so it feels fitting to have created an English rose of such endless appeal in her honour.”


John Lewis’ visual merchandise manager, Lucy Ashley, added the Peter Jones display, which also features carnations, chrysanthemums, and herbs from John Lewis Partnership’s Hampshire farm, took around 500 hours in total to put together.
She explained: “Everything we've used is real, rather than artificial, so it needs to be meticulously tended to make sure it stays fresh.”
The display can be seen until May 26.
