Think of landmarks, familiar London symbols and stars that were born in the city. There are so many options for a capital themed Halloween bash.

1. Sherlock Holmes

A memorable fictional figure of London who in the stories Sir Arthur Conan Doyle lived in the city in the 19th century. You probably have most of this costume in your own wardrobe but in case you don’t have a tweed hat and pipe you can order some online.

2. Big Ben

The Westminster clock tower is one of London’s most recognisable buildings and is a regular costume worn by runners in the capital’s famous marathon each year. You could easily create your own version of Big Ben in cardboard for a costume but if you don’t have the time you could also buy one online.

3. David Bowie

Born in Brixton, Bowie is one of the city’s most famous icons. If you want to honour the late singer this Halloween there are plenty of costumes online.

4. Red Telephone box

While they’re not really used any longer in the city, red telephone boxes have become such a London symbol. This one is another one you can get creative with and make a costume out of cardboard.

5. London Eye

Initially opened at the Millennium Wheel, the London Eye is an iconic part of the city’s skyline and Southbank. To capture the attraction’s wheel you could use a hula hoop as the base of your outfit although you could also make a smaller version and wear it as a headband too.

6. A Royal Guard

Responsible for protecting the royals and their residences you’ll be familiar with them for their tall fluff headwear and bright red uniform. Unsurprisingly there’s a selection of costumes available of royal guards online.

7. Amy Winehouse

Another of the city’s beloved stars is Amy Winehouse who was known for her signature beehive and winged eyeliner look. If you’re wanting to honour her this Halloween in costume you can buy a wig and even temporary tattoos online.
