While the Southbank will be the centre of the city's New Year's Eve celebrations, thanks to the Mayor of London's annual firework display, Londoners don't have to stump up for a ticket to get a good view.
The celebratory New Year's fireworks, which will be set off from the banks of the River Thames, are set to light up the inner city as London bids farewell to another year.
While the glow of fireworks will be seen far and wide throughout the city, some of its green spaces, in particular, offer a look at the display as part of the city's skyline.

Tickets for tonight’s annual New Year’s Eve firework display are now sold out. The only legitimate resale tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
1. Brockwell Park
The London Eye is also visible from the south London park. For the best skyline view head to the hill closest to the lido.

Boasting panoramic views of the city, the north London spot will showcase the New Year’s fireworks amongst the capital’s iconic skyline.

Another north London spot that offers breathtaking city views is Parliament Hill and other spots on Hampstead Heath.

Despite being nine miles from the fireworks action, the south London green space is another spot with a view of the city sights, including the London Eye.
