While the Southbank will be the centre of the city's New Year's Eve celebrations, thanks to the Mayor of London's annual firework display, Londoners don't have to stump up for a ticket to get a good view.
The celebratory New Year's fireworks, which will be set off from the banks of the River Thames, are set to light up the inner city as London bids farewell to another year.

1. Brockwell Park
The London Eye is also visible from the south London park. For the best skyline view head to the hill closest to the lido.

Another north London spot that offers breathtaking city views is Parliament Hill and other spots on Hampstead Heath.

Despite being nine miles from the fireworks action, the south London green space is another spot with a view of the city sights, including the London Eye.
