Over 50,000 people took to the streets of the capital this Sunday (April 21) as they took on the 26.2-mile London Marathon.
Starting in the east of the city at Blackheath, runners made their way across the city and along the Thames before reaching the finish line at the iconic Pal Mal.
Kenyan long-distance runner Peres Jepchirchir won the women’s race with a women's only world-record time of two hours 16 minutes and 16 seconds.
The London Marathon 2024 Elite men’s race winner was Alexander Mutiso Munyao, with a time of two hours, four minutes and one second.
Switzerland’s Marcel Hug once again topped the men’s wheelchair race while fellow Swiss athlete Catherine Debrunner won the Women’s competition.
The mass race also featured a few celebrity runners including McFly drummer Harry Judd, ninth Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston, comedian Romesh Ranganathan and Masked Singer host Joel Dommett.
As well as famous competitors, other stars were also supporting runners by the sidelines of the race including pro boxer Anthony Joshua.
