The London Marathon took over the capital today as thousands of participants pounded the pavements to complete the 26.2 mile course across the city. Here’s everything you need to know about those who crossed the finish line of the 2024 event first.

The 2024 edition marks the 44rd running of the famous marathon in London. The first race took place in 1981 with more than a million people having since completed the course. 

This year is said to have been one of the largest marathons in the capital yet, as around 50,000 runners are said to have taken part in the mass race.
