Kaleidoscope Festival 2023 was set to take over Alexandra Palace over the weekend.

Kaleidoscope Festival has announced it has cancelled its 2023 event following concerns over forecasted weekend weather. The music and arts festival was set to take place on Saturday (July 15) but will no longer be held after the Met Office warned the capital could experience strong winds on the day.

Earlier today (July 14) the Met Office issued a yellow wind warning over the capital for Saturday. Forecasts for the day predict winds could near 50mph. In particular, Londoners are expected to experience the strongest winds at 4pm, when they will hit 47mph.

Following the Met Office’s warning, Kaleidoscope Festival has since confirmed its 2023 edition is cancelled due to high winds in a statement across social media and on its website.

The event’s organisers explained: "We are devastated to announce that due to the Met Office’s Yellow Warning and the significant safety risks the forecasted high winds pose on Saturday, 15 July, we have no choice but to cancel Kaleidoscope Festival."

They later added: "We made this decision based on a site-specific weather forecast provided by the Met Office and following consultation with partners, including the local authority, health and safety advisors, structural engineers and the emergency services. Ultimately, people’s safety has to be the priority."
