London weather: Met Office issues yellow wind warning for capital this weekend

The Met Office has warned Londoners could expect "unseasonable" wind over the weekend. The meteorological service has issued a yellow wind warning for Saturday (July 15).
Saturday’s weather warning will be in place in London across most of the day, with the forecaster stating: “An unseasonably windy day is likely on Saturday.” It is also in place across the south and southeast of the UK as well as the capital.

Hide AdThe Met Office has forecast winds could near 50mph in London on Saturday. City dwellers are set to experience the strongest winds at 4pm, when they will hit 47mph.
While Sunday is still set to have sturdy winds, it won’t compare to Saturday’s forecast. Instead, winds are expected to be much calmer, hitting 35mph at their strongest.

As well as the expected strong winds, the capital may also experience some wet weather over Saturday morning. The Met Office gives a 40% chance of rain at 9am and again at 1pm.
