Eid festivities are set to start across the capital this week as Londoners celebrate the end of Ramadan's daily fasting from dawn until dusk.

This year’s Eid al-Fitr was confirmed to be Wednesday (April 10) after a new crescent moon was spotted in London on Tuesday.

The sighting of a crescent moon marks the start of a new month on the Islamic calendar with the latest glimpse also signifying the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Over the next few weeks the capital will host many Eid festivities as Londoners come together to celebrate with feasts and prayer.

Here are five of the biggest Eid events happening in London this April.

Eid In The Park

With face painting, henna, bouncy castles, funfair rides and stalls the Ealing event invites locals of all ages to come together and celebrate Eid.

When: April 12 - April 14, 12pm - 7pm

Westfield London

The White City shopping centre will host Eid celebrations this weekend from Friday (April 12) to Sunday (April 14). Festivities will include live entertainment as well as an array of stalls to browse and activities to take part in.

Islamia Community Eid Festival

The Islamia Primary School is set to welcome Eid celebrations this month with its own festival event which will host an array of stalls and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Westfield Stratford

The Westfield shopping centre in Stratford is also set to have its own Eid celebrations the following weekend. The east London spot will host festivities from April 19 to April 21.

Eid in the Square 2024

Returning to Trafalgar Square for its 19th year, The Mayor of London’s free, annual festival will also celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
