Many of us will be planning to snuggle up with a good Christmas movie this month. ‘Tis the season, after all!
Luckily there are plenty of timeless flicks that are set right here in London to choose from.
You just can’t beat London at Christmas and over the years many filmmakers have captured the magic of the city over the holidays.
Using its iconic landmarks as a backdrop for stories of love, laughter, and seasonal cheer, London has become a familiar holiday destination around the world for its feature in classic Christmas movies.
Love Actually and About A Boy are just some of the go-to options many will no doubt watch this Xmas. However, the city has also featured in more recent festive movies including the 2019 film Last Christmas.
Here are a few Christmas films set in London you can add to your festive watching list:

1. About A Boy
The 1998 classic which is set in London at Christmas features a few spots locals will recognise including London Zoo and HMV Oxford Circus. Will’s apartment is also based in the Islington Clerkenwell area while Will’s School was filmed in the south of the city in Wandsworth. | Getty Images

2. Last Christmas
The city is also where the festive movie Last Christmas is set. Named after the Wham Christmas hit, the movie follows a frustrated Londoner who works as an elf in an all year round Christmas shop in the city. 3. Bridget Jones’s Diary
Another film set in the capital at Christmas time is the iconic rom com Bridget Jones. Tower Bridge and Piccadilly Circus are just some of the familiar London spots featured with Bridget’s flat right by Borough Market having also become a landmark of sorts to fans. | Getty Images
