Monday January 15 is Blue Monday, apparently the most depressing time of the year. And as the saying goes: laughter is the best medicine.

London has one of the biggest comedy scenes in the world, with famous names such as The Comedy Store as well as dozens of lesser-known nights and clubs - some at a fraction of the cost.

The Soho Comedy Factory runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays, and draws sellout crowds with tickets available from just £5.

The night is in the heart of Soho at the Blue Post pub in Berwick Street, one of the only independent pubs in the area.

Typically, audience members get to see five acts doing a mixture of their best stuff, as well as new material.

The Soho Comedy Factory has acts that have performed at Live at Apolo and on Comedy Central. Previous appearances have included Mo Gilligan, Larry Dean and Harriet Kemsley.

Other top comedy nights around London include Angel Comedy at the Bill Murray, Top Secret Comedy and the West End Comedy Club.

Tickets for the Soho Comedy Factory are available online now.
